Matt brings over 17 years of engineering and management experience to his role at SynCardia. After receiving his degree in mechanical engineering, he started his career in the aerospace and defense industry working as a process engineer on solid fuel rocket motor insulation and other composite components for multiple high visibility programs including the THAAD and Patriot defense systems. Matt’s passion for engineering, manufacturing, and business then inspired him to found and lead an ISO 9001 certified manufacturing company which became established as a top supplier to multiple medical device companies. Matt also has experience in the in vitro diagnostics space where he worked as a staff mechanical engineer and development lead for tissue staining instruments used for cancer diagnostics. For SynCardia, he has held multiple positions managing both engineering and operations and has patents pending for a next generation fully implantable artificial heart. When Matt isn’t focusing on our next generation products, he enjoys spending time with his daughter and supporting her many school and extracurricular activities.
