Tucson, AZ. At SynCardia, we are delighted to announce our participation in the Heart Walk 2023, an event dedicated to supporting cardiovascular health. Organized by the American Heart Association (AHA), this year’s walk took place on April 22, 2023 (Saturday) at Reid Park in Tucson, Arizona.
The SynCardia team eagerly walked the 5 km course, aiming to raise awareness and funds for heart disease while fostering a sense of community. The Heart Walk brought together over 4,000 individuals, including our passionate SynCardia team and their families. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our SynCardia family for their incredible support and positive energy throughout the event.
We were honored to share this sponsorship opportunity with Unique Beating Hearts (UBH), a newly established non-profit organization founded by two former Total Artificial Heart (TAH) patients, Johnny Lemucchi and Lance White. UBH, led by Johnny Lemucchi as the President and Board Member, aims to provide emotional support and foster a sense of community among TAH recipients and their loved ones. Johnny Lemucchi expressed his gratitude, saying, “As President of Unique Beating Hearts, our non-profit organization strives to offer an understanding and caring community that meets the supportive needs of those facing the challenging condition of end-stage heart failure. We appreciate SynCardia for joining us in this special event.“

SynCardia’s participation in the Heart Walk exemplifies our dedication to improving cardiovascular health and our unwavering support for patients and families battling cardiovascular disease. We extend our gratitude to the American Heart Association for their invaluable support throughout this event. As we reflect on this year’s successful Heart Walk, we eagerly anticipate our continued involvement in 2024, with the hope of making an even greater impact in raising awareness for heart health.
SynCardia remains committed to advancing cardiovascular health and supporting patients on their journey toward improved well-being. The Heart Walk 2023 served as a remarkable platform for us to unite with the community, foster awareness, and extend our support to those affected by heart disease. We will continue to collaborate with organizations like UBH and the American Heart Association to ensure that every step we take brings us closer to a world with healthier hearts.
